Life is a journey and a mystery and a process. Tears can give way to laughter. Rain can give way to sunshine. What is chaotic can be made orderly. What is ugly can be made beautiful. What is broken can be made whole. Depravity can be redeemed.

I am a firm believer that no one is beyond the reach and healing power of Jesus Christ. That’s part of the mystery of life. We can be broken, we can be hurt, we can mess things up... but we cannot, try as we might, move beyond God’s reach. For some reason, He longs to fix broken things. Longs to fill emptiness and heal heartache. Longs to make beauty out of all the shattered pieces.

For that reason I sing and I write and I create. All as my feeble attempt to communicate some sliver of hope to someone who finds themselves in need. I write to share a piece of my journey in the hopes that it will resonate with your own... May your journey be made beautiful by the grace and power of God.

The goal of The MercyKings is to offer hope and encouragement in a world that seems to take great pleasure in trying to beat us down on a daily basis. Someone once said Christians can't sing the blues, but we beg to differ. God willing, we have a long road ahead of us and as many of us know that road can often times be filled with potholes, pitfalls, cracks and breaks.

“Christians are a peculiar people that are called on to be the light in a dark world and the salt of the earth. The bands desire is to communicate our great hope which is ‘Christ in us, the hope of glory’ and to do it in an honest and straight up way that sometimes says it is indeed a hard road at times.”

Gritty, loud, emotional and honest.... it's what we hope to be to others and what we hope our music sounds like.
